Creamed Corn Like No Other

At our last Creative Cooking, I asked everyone to share what Thanksgiving dishes their families insisted on having.  One gal said a special creamed corn, made with canned corn.  I am NOT a canned corn fan and I actually did have canned corn on hand, not frozen so that is what I used.  I don't know if this was the particular recipe they used, but it is one I found and sounded close.  Everyone here loved it.  It has a nice sprinkling of Parmesan on the top and I think next time I'll add just a dash of cayenne for a little kick.  Definitely a recipe I'll make again.

Mix the corn, cream, salt, sugar and pepper and butter in a saucepan and heat.  Mix the flour and milk together as a thickener and whisk in to the corn mixture.  Cook till hot and bubbly.  Top with Parmesan cheese and serve.
